New York State is offering online training in collaboration and funding through New York Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) and coordinated by the Association on Aging in NY. The training is delivered in partnership with Boston University’s Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) to offer competency-based certificate program for professional development. The online training will provide participants with high quality, standard, cost-effective training program that will enhance knowledge while expanding skill set.

Case Management Certification Program (CMCP)

About the Program

The Association on Aging in NY, in partnership with the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) is pleased to announce a Case Management Certificate Training Program. This program is designed aging service network case management work force throughout New York Stage who are either directly employed by an AAA as well as those who are vendors of AAA's and received state and/or federal funding. This includes both full and part time staff.

This online training program will be delivered by Boston University's Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER) and, endorsed by the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA)  

The five required courses include:
  1. Core Issues in Aging & Disability  
  2. Assessment with Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities
  3. A Guides to Aging and Disability Networks 
  4. Care Management Practice
  5. Care Transitions

Eligibility: This program is designed for directly employed AAA case managers and case managers who are vendors of AAA's and receive state and/or federal funding.

Behavioral Health Certificate Program (BHCP)

About the program

The Behavioral Health Certificate Program for New York is a five online course program that will take about 19 hours to complete. Participants are expected to complete all 5 courses by October 31, 2017. A course will be marked as complete when a learner completes the course quiz and post-course competency evaluation. Upon completion of the post-course competency evaluation, the next course will be released into your account.

This online training program will be delivered by Boston University's Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER) and, endorsed by the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA).

The five required courses include

  1. Mental Health and Aging (4 CEU's)
  2. Suicide Prevention among Older Adults (4 CEU's)
  3. Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias of Aging (4 CEU's)
  4. Substance Use among Older Adults (4 CEU's)
  5. Mental Wellness and Resilience among Older Immigrants and Refugees (3 CEU's)
