Aging in New York
2017 Older New Yorkers Day
The New York State Office for the Aging and the Association on Aging in NY are pleased to announce the second annual AAA Volunteer Innovations Award, which will be presented at the 2017 Older New Yorkers Day celebration in Albany on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Volunteers are essential in delivering services to the aging network. New York State's AAAs have been highly creative in using volunteers to further their mission; provide high-quality services; and expand service opportunities for older adults across the state.
The AAA Volunteer Innovations Award will recognize one AAA for its innovative use of volunteers in providing services that assist older adults in maintaining their independence, supporting the valuable contributions of informal caregivers, and/or other tasks that further the overall goals and mission of the AAA.
We strongly encourage you to participate by sharing the unique and innovative way(s) you attract, manage, utilize, and/or retain older adult volunteers.
Please submit nominations to Tim Nichols at firstname.lastname@example.org
by 5pm, Friday, March 24, 2017.
