We are making plans for our annual Advocacy Day in Albany this February and there is not a more important time to come to Albany and advocate for the resources we need to support older New Yorkers and their families. The news out of Washington, DC and its potential effect on New York State is very discouraging and recent reports from New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli point to a budget "triple threat" of "projected budget gaps, weaker than expected personal income tax collections and cuts to federal programs."(Read the report)
We will be working to ensure our priories are included in the 2018-19 State Budget and your advocacy will be needed. Please mark your calendars and consider joining us in Albany as we meet with legislators, legislative leaders and key legislative staffers. Hope to see you in Albany in February!
